Alpine’s first hybrid endurance prototype: an ORECA-based LMDh that entered the WEC in 2024 and earned its first podium at Fuji.

With the A424, Alpine began a new Hypercar programme in 2024. Built to LMDh rules around an ORECA chassis, it combines a 3.4-litre single-turbo V6 with the standard hybrid system used by this family of prototypes.

Its carbon-and-honeycomb structure, push-rod suspension and seven-speed Xtrac gearbox form the foundation of a car designed for long-distance competition. Alpine’s blue-and-black 2024 livery was inspired by its collaboration with artist Felipe Pantone.

The first season brought a breakthrough at the 6 Hours of Fuji. Nicolas Lapierre, Mick Schumacher and Matthieu Vaxiviere finished third in the number 36, securing the A424’s first WEC podium. The sister number 35 also set the fastest race lap.

The A424 introduced hybrid power to Alpine’s endurance programme and put the marque into the growing field of manufacturers competing under the Hypercar umbrella.
